If you've ever had a wish to watch a modern trailer for an older movie, this one is it. 2001: A Space Odyssey was released in theaters in 1968, but the premise for this next video is simple, youtube channel Film School Rejects asks the simple question: "What if 2001 had been released as a modern summer blockbuster?" This trailer takes an excellent movie and recuts it into a trailer that meets today's movie trailer standards. What do you need to be a modern trailer? You need catchy music, fast paced scenes, and lots of editing. Most trailers today are extremely visual and the most effective ones don't even bother discussing the plot at all. I liked this trailer for several reasons: I like trailers, I like action packed trailers and I love 2001: A Space Odyssey. This video is a great tribute to an amazing movie.
