The Alien franchise has some of my favorite science-fiction movie moments of all time, and more specifically Alien and Aliens (the first and second in the series) are some of my favorite movies of all time. The other movies, while interesting and fun to watch, are definitely not as good as those first two, and if the series had ended with Ripley, Hicks, Bishop and Newt going to sleep after having just survived an attack by the Alien Queen, I would have been cool with that. No disrespect to the other movies in the franchise, they are interesting additions, but with the release of Prometheus, I have come to the sad realization that the high point of the Alien franchise came and went many years ago. For me, Aliens will always be my favorite memory: I love Sigourney Weaver playing the strong female leader, I love the marines, I love how quotable the movie is and I love the soundtrack. If this movie became a musical, I would be one of the first people in line to buy tickets.
